A total of 50 digital libraries are set up in the Nagarnuool district to support knowledge and awareness between rural students and communities.
According to the collector of the district collector Nagarnuool Badawat Santosh, the project is launched with a special initiative of the local congress of Mallu Ravi and will be funded through social responsibility (CSR) contributions. The plan will be set up 50 digital libraries in the districts of Nagarnoool, Wanaparthy and Gadwal, which fall under the Nagarnoool Lok Sabha constituency at an estimated cost of 1.2 crore. This will only be developed by 29 libraries in the Nagarnoool district.
Mr. Santosh said that each library will be built at the price of 2 lakh. The equipment will be established by an election district, with Kalwakurty to receive eight libraries, Kollapur Seven, Nagarnuool Seven and Achamphet Seven. The proposals for all 29 libraries have already been sanctioned, adding that he ordered officials to speed up the acquisition and construction work on the land and ensure that the infrastructure was necessary. District officer Panchayat Sriramulu was asked to supervise the works and finish them at a specified time.
Mr. Santosh said that digital libraries would provide rural students with access to modern teaching resources and helped expand the knowledge and awareness of the wider community.
