
Two people lost their lives and twelve others suffered injuries after the three -storey building collapsed behind Premsukh Talkies on Jawahar Marg on Monday evening, the officials said.
According to police officials, there was an incident around 21:00 in the Daul Ganj area, where a three -storey building suddenly approached, including the basement. Initial reports suggest that 13 individuals were imprisoned under the debris.

The district collector Shivam Verma, who arrived at the place soon after the incident, confirmed that 14 people were saved, including a child who was later pulled safely. “13 people were suspected of being buried in collapse. “One woman is seriously injured in her leg. The remaining eleven is in stable conditions,” Verma added.
Rescue operations were carried out by joint teams of urban corporations, police, district administration, state reactions to emergencies (sderf) and civil defense with the help of local residents. Heavy machines, including excavators and JCBS, were deployed to clean the remains.
Among the deceased was a man identified as Fahe and a 20 -year -old woman named Alifa. According to officials, the structure was reportedly weak and was built without the right rays and columns. It is assumed that the continuous accumulation of water around the building has caused collapse.
Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, District Collector Shivam Verma and city commissioner Harshika Singh remained in place overnight to supervise the rescue efforts.
