Two days after the police booked the local leader of Congress in North Paravur for alleged slander of CPI (M) KJ Shine, his wife filed a complaint about cyber attack by left -wing supporters.
Sherley, the wife of CK Gopalakrishnan, filed a complaint against the North Paravur police on Sunday (September 21, 2025). The police said the complaint was handed over to the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ernacula in the countryside.
In her complaint, Mrs. Sherley said that her whole family was exposed to serious cyber attacks of alleged left sympathizers. She claimed that she was portrayed in a derogatory way on the social media. She named several handles of social media in the complaint.
Mr. Gopalakrishnan, along with the political commentator of KM Shajahan, was booked by the police crime by the police crime complaint filed by Mrs. Shine.
The controversy about the alleged attempts to defame CPI (M) leader recently triggered a political debate in the state.
Mrs. Shine and its leaders accused the leadership of the congress of the organization of cyber attack, which focuses on it. The rejection of the accusation, the leaders of the congress, including the opposition leader, claimed that the defamation against Mrs. Shine could come from alleged fractionism in CPI (m) in Ernacula.
A special investigation team (SIT) headed by Munambam Dysp S. Jayakrishnan is trying a case registered for Mrs. Shine complaint. Four CPIMs in the district also filed separate complaints in connection with the incident. SIT will collectively examine common requirements in the MLA complaints in the ongoing investigation, the policeman said.
