Thiruvananthapuram International Airport registered a record movement for passengers in August with 4.19 Lakh passengers.
This is the highest monthly movement of passengers through the airport because it was taken over by the Adani group in 2021. Among the passengers were 2.25 lakh international passengers with an airport facilitating a record 1,404 aircraft movements from 14 foreign cities.
Among the international cities, destinations like Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai contributed a larger number of passengers. As the international volume of passengers via the airport, the authorities will begin in the upcoming winter schedule, the sources said. The airport recently received the government of the Union by nodding to establish a five -star luxury hotel in front of the International Terminal in Chakka.
240 rooms
Given that the Ministry of the Environment recommends for collection, the airport authorities hope to set up a five -star hotel in one year with an expenditure of 136.31 crore. The hotel is spreading along 33,902 m2 AS with a height of 23 m, has 240 rooms and a congress center with 660 seats, restaurants and lots of modern equipment aimed at providing world -class passengers.
The project was delayed after the State Office for Evaluation of Impacts (Seiaa) asked for a change in the original proposal. Now that the decks are cleaned for the project, the agency with a proven outcome in the hospitality will be entrusted with the task of the hotel management and will mark the main milestone in the development project on the airport side.
