Given that Andhra Pradesh announces compensation for onions farmers, the purchase of onions will be stopped from Monday for a reward of 1,200 GBP per quintal.
The common collector B. Navya said that the state government announced a compensation of 50,000 GBP per hectare for farmers whose crops were damaged and faced difficulties to receive rewarding prices. The amount will be credited directly to the bank accounts of farmers.
Mrs. Navya said that the market yard in Kurnool will be closed on Sunday. “From Monday, farmers have to sell their production directly to local merchants or other markets wherever they get a good price. Onions that have already been brought to market yards, and so far, what must be sold can also be moved to other places and farmers sold,” she said.
Mrs. Navya said earlier that the government had paid a compensation of 25,000 GBP for hectares of farmers who lost their crops on heavy rain or other unforeseen events. The Chief Minister of Naid has announced that the above compensation will be doubled in favor of farmers.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry and Trade TG Bharath thanked the main minister for notification of reward for farmers onions. “The state government has to carry more than 100 crore for it,” he said.
Nandyal by MP Byreddy Shabari welcomed this decision. The onion is grown in 45,278 acres in an undivided district of Kurnool and 24,218 farmers will have the compensation announced by the government.
She said the government came to rescue farmers Totapuri by paying Crore 260 GBP for 4 GBP for kg of product. Similar initiatives have also started for farmers of tobacco and cocoa.
Roads and buildings by Minister BC Janardhan Reddy said the government again proved that he was for a farmer. The main minister is constantly following the situation, he said.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy accused the party of the YSR (YSRCP) of the neglect of farmers with onions when the party was in power and stimulated farmers to oppose the government for “selfish political gains”.
