Representatives of the main minister of development Bengaluru DK Shivakumar said on Thursday that the government is unwavering threats and blackmail in the middle of the ongoing debate on societies leaving the city over concerns about infrastructure.
Mr. Shivakumar, who spoke at a press conference on Thursday, added in Andhra Pradesh that no one would prevent anyone from attracting and relocating companies from Bengalur. “They don’t have people there, so they’re trying to take it from here,” he said as he asked about the neighboring states offering space for society.
He pointed out that Bengaluru was home to 3 lake foreigners using opportunities and employs 25 lakh engineers, while a place like California has only 1.3 lakh.
“The system and the talent fund in Bengalur is strong. If they believe that Bengalur is safe and good, he will trade here,” said Mr. Shivakumar, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself called Bengalura by a global city.
He expressed a surprise that only the problem with the potholes of Bengalur was emphasized, although places like Delhi and Mahashtra face the same problem.
Mr. Shivakumar reiterated that the civic body is working on an action plan to find a permanent solution to potholes rather than just fill them every time they appear.
He noted that the night rain between the center and Thursday created nearly 20 potholes around Vishan Judge in the central Bengalur. “What do you do if the rain creates confusion? It’s a nature. But we can’t sit idly; it’s our responsibility to fix it,” he said.
Shivakumar also stated that the government has issued a timeline for the fulfillment of potholes and fixed responsibility. The main minister also convened a meeting on Saturday to discuss this matter, he said.
“Educational institutions that children write letters to the Prime Minister and tweeting should attack elections and make politics, then understand,” said Mr. Shivakumar, responding to a private school that published a letter written by students about bad infrastructure in East Bengalur.
Meanwhile, he also rejected the Minister of the Union HD Kumaraswamy’s criticism of the government to emphasize the developmental edition.
On Thursday, Mr. Kumaraswamy published a long report on X and said, “The government claiming that it has no funds to fill in potholes, must answer: Where are taxpayers’ money going?
Shivakumar questioned Mr. Kumaraswamy’s contribution to Bengalur. “It’s not the left and the right hand of Modi? We’re happy … Let him bring to Bengalur 10,000 crore,” he said.
