Commissioner Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Dyanacandra HM said that in each office the Secretariat of the Department should be set up, re -use, recycling (RRR).
After seeing the RRR center established in the Raghavayya park in the city on Thursday, Mr. Dyanacandra said that all 64 VMC departments were RRR centers. In addition, there are nine special RRR centers.
The VMC is now planning the RRR center in all the secretariat offices under the limits of the civic body. The decision was made as part of the ongoing “Swachhostav-Swacht Hi Seva” ride.
Mr. Dyanacandra said that people can bring used steel dishes, clothing, books, papers, slippers, shoes, electronic equipment and other materials to their nearest RRR center or to the RRR Secretariat office.
This initiative will be taken to reduce waste, reuse and recycling of materials, he said.
The city commissioner appreciated the citizens who donated books in these centers. He called on citizens to expand the awareness of these centers among their friends and neighbors.
The program was attended by the main physician of VMC K. Arjuna Rao, assistant of medical health Babu Srinivas and employees.
