ICC ODI Rankings Update: India retain top spot, New Zealand closes gap

India continue to hold on to the No.1 position in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, even as their lead over second-placed New Zealand narrows after the annual ranking update.The update shows that India has dropped one ranking point, moving from 119 to 118, while New Zealand has gained two points to 113. As a result, the gap between the top two sides has narrowed from eight points to five.World champions Australia remain firmly in third place with a rating of 103, maintaining the same number as before the update.

ICC Men’s ODI Rankings

There was only one positional change in the top 10 ranking. South Africa climbed to fourth place with 102 rating points, moving ahead of Pakistan, who are now fifth with 100 points.Further down the table, the separation between Bangladesh and the West Indies became more significant. Bangladesh remain in ninth place, but the lead over the Caribbean side has stretched to 10 rating points.There were also several moves outside the top 10. Ireland moved ahead of Zimbabwe to 11th, while the United States overtook Scotland to climb to 13th. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has overtaken Canada and is now ranked 19th.India’s dominance in white-ball cricket extends beyond the ODI format, with the team also retaining the No.1 ranking in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings following last week’s annual update. Australia remain the highest ranked men’s side in the Test arena. Australia also continues to lead the ICC Women’s ODI and Women’s T20I rankings.
