
During the monthly surgery of the Cyber criminal wing Hyderabad Police, a total of 61 individuals were arrested in 14 countries, led to more than 1 crore for victims of cyber fraud.
Operations dealt with a spectrum of crimes.
Business fraud led the sum with 13 accused, followed by 12 arrested for investment fraud and 11 for offenses associated with social media. Insurance fraud was 8 arrests, while three were held for fraud with digital arrest and unauthorized transactions. Two individuals were reserved for the personification and two for credit fraud, along with two associated with OTP -related fraud.
In addition, five persons and one under the line of tips on social media were arrested under the Copyright Act.
During August, the police received 338 complaints from the NCRP, registered 233 FIRS locally and 90 companies in Zonal Cyber Cells.
Tamil Nadu recorded the highest number with 20 arrests, followed by Karnataka with 16, Gujarat with 18, Maharashtra and Delhi with 13.
Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan reported every arrest.
Together with the arrest, compensation of 1,01,39,338 GBP was facilitated for victims, divided across fraud categories.
Investment fraud was the largest share with 52.13 ₹ Lakh, followed by trading in fraud with 16.23 GBP Lakh, credit fraud with 15.79 Lakh and OTP related fraud with 8.86 ₹ Lakh. Fraud fraud victims were returned of 3.48 GBP Lakh, game fraud 2.25 lakh and trade fraud £ 2,17 Lakh, while digital fraud recorded a return of 46,000 GBP. Seizures included 50 mobile phones, 51 atm/debit cards, 21 control books, 12 deposits, seven notebooks, 82 SIM cards and three company stamps.
Remarkable cases included a 34 -year -old woman from Tarnaka, cheating over 1 crore through a fraudulent business application operated through Instagram and telegram between January 2025 and July 2025 and 73 -year -old Hyderabad residents cheated on 22.5 Lakh.
In all cases, the police followed complex networks including Indian and international workers, gained key digital evidence and ensured the return of the victims.
The Hyderabad Municipal Police urged people to be vigilant against social media investment systems, fraudulent news and unsolicited digital communication that claims to come from officials. The victims were encouraged to immediately report incidents through a 1930 line or computer crime .gov.in to ensure early relief.
