The petition trying to declare that BRS MLC P. Venkatram Reddy unfit to hold instead of MLC would apply for hearing per day or two on Tuesday (September 16).
Two people – J. Shankar and R. Subader Singh – filed a petition requiring HC for the issue of Quo Warranto and said that P. Venkatram Reddy did not have the MLC office. Their main statement was that Mr. Reddy was elected MLC without properly ensuring his voluntary retirement received by the Union’s government.
According to them, Mr. Reddy resigned from the post of district collector Medak 15. November 2021 and sent a resignation letter to the main secretary before attacked MLC as a nominated BRS. On the same day, the state government accepted its resignation and the next day was elected MLC.
The petitioners, however, claimed that the Ministry of Personnel and Training (DOPT) did not accept its resignation because they had to resign all India in the morning three months in advance if it intended to resign. This mandatory procedure was not followed by it, they said.
