Traffic restrictions around Freedom Park on June 11 due to the DSS protest
In view of the protest organized by the Karnataka Dalitha Sanghatana Samithi at Freedom Park from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 11, the Bengal Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic restrictions and diversions in and around the Central Business District to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
As per the notification, vehicles approaching Freedom Park from Mysore Bank Circle via KG Road and intending to turn right will have to use Maharani Underpass Road to Palace Cross Road.
Traffic between Freedom Park Junction and Kanakadasa Circle has been temporarily restricted in both directions and no vehicles will be allowed on the stretch during the protest.
Motorists traveling from Khode Junction towards KR Circle have been advised to use Old JDS Office Road to avoid the traffic jam as the protesters are expected to march on foot from the city railway station through the flyover.
To facilitate the flow of traffic, the stretch from Subbanna Junction to MTR Junction, which is currently functioning as a one-way road, has been temporarily converted into a two-way road. Commuters traveling towards Gandhinagar can use this route.
Parking of all types of vehicles has been prohibited from Khode Junction to Maharani Junction and on V. Ramachandra, Kalidasa, Palace Road and KG Road.
