When the Matinee Idol of the Telugu Film Industry, Konidel Pawan Kalyan – a kindly called PK – launched his political party Jan Sen Party (JSP), political scientists wrote him as a “political newcomer”. They even went so far that they claimed that, like his older brother K. Chiranjeevi, he would disappear within a few years.
Chiranjeevi, SuperStar in Tollywood, burned his fingers by launching his own political party Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) only to later connect with Congress.
But Mr. Pawan did them wrong. Not only did he stick to his parties, but he also became a force that he could count on – today, not only in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh, but at the national level, because his party is a key NDA alliance partner on Wednesday.
Today, Mr. Pawan is a representative of the main minister of the state. However, it seems to lose grip over the party. At the recent meeting of “Senatho Senani” with party workers in Visakhapatnam, he sincerely expressed his dissatisfaction with the cadre and leaders of the party and promised to personally direct.
The political rookie Mr. Pawan became a politician for the purpose. His clean image still helps him maintain unity inside the party and gain the political number of mileage in the political structure, etc.
However, there is a growing concern that since he won the election and became a representative of CM, Mr. Pawan distanced himself from party activists and leaders. Messages of tension and dissatisfaction between cadres are on the rise. Between the once unhealthy support series, there is a feeling of silent dissatisfaction. Many of them expressed frustrations from the delay in local appointments, are moved in coalition policy and the lack of representation. There are also serious concerns about the dominance of the Alliance over JSP. Some even question Mr. Pawan’s assertiveness in the management of public affairs, in the middle of the opinion that the second violin on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) plays.
However, it seems that PK the message has understood soon and now it is to reorganize and restructure its party on the mission. At the meeting, he admitted that he was forced to distance himself from party activities because of excessive focus on managing public affairs. However, he assured that things would change in the coming days.
The leader of his party also agreed to the evaluation of Mr. Pawan. He explained that since the first time they came to power and the party was new for administration, it took some time to understand the complexity of the management of the state.
Over the past 10 years, because Mr. Pawan has launched his party, he led her from the front despite numerous failures. He showed resistance by remaining faithful to his ideals and fought hard. In 2014, Mr. Pawan did not participate in the elections, despite the support of the Alliance TDP and Bharatiya Janata the Alliance NDA (BJP). In 2019 he attacked himself and suffered a crushing defeat and lost from both constituencies where he stood.
But in the election 2024 he turned the tide. After strengthening the NDA with BJP and TDP, Jagan Mohan Reddy launched an energetic campaign against YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and reached 100 % strike. He won all 21 places of the MLA, where his party attacked, according to an agreement to share seats, as well as two MP seats.
In the past year, however, the feeling of uncertainty crawled. The cadres were particularly dissatisfied with the allocation ratio of various nominees and quasi-shades. There is a feeling that he is omitted, even though he is in the alliance. While the upper layers of the alliance appear to maintain good relations, conflict is at medium and lower levels.
Now Mr. Pawan is to rejuvenate on the mission and revive the moral power of the cadre. He made it clear that the alliance would remain intact and the YSR Congress (YSRCP) party would not be allowed to return. He actively works on the reorganization and restructuring of the party in this respect.
At the Visakhapatnam meeting, Mr. Pawan officially said he would focus on strengthening his party level at the local level. By March 2026, he set the goal to complete this process, which explained that the base of the cadre was its strength and that there will be no room for satisfaction at any level.
It seems that Mr. Pawan understands that he has a big task at hand. Now it is time to re -engage in cadres and activists, increase its visible participation in the administration and pursue a different JSP identity in the alliance.
