The government allowed local authorities to use unused land with various government authorities for this purpose. School campuses were also used. Many neglected Kaavus (Sacred Groves) was revived as part of the initiative. The seedlings were opened without the cost of the forest department. Mahatma Gandhi (MGNGS) and Ayyankali’s employment guarantee guarantee were used to prepare soil and planting.
Local varieties
Plants or trees suitable for each area and local varieties that have disappeared over the years have been identified by experts and planted. In some areas where mangrove forests were found to be more suitable, “Pakathuruth” had this form. Exotic and invasive species such as acacia and eucalyptus were completely avoided. Tulip Indian trees, mango of a tree, wild jack (anjily), black plums (Njaval), Neermaruth, Tamarind, Indian plums, mahogany, neem to medicinal plants such as Malabar walnut (Adalodakam) and Angretar were planted on various graphs.
Private land was also used in some places after the owners expressed their willingness. A local committee was created to ensure the maintenance of each of the mini forests, with its representatives, local residents and youth members part.
