The acquisition of soil for the second Chennai airport in Parandur in the Kancheepuram district is gradually gaining a pace, while the Tamil Government acquires almost 540 acres for this project.
Three years after the Tamil Government announced a project of 27,400 GBP, the Ministry of Civil Aviation approved a major approval in April.
5 746 acres of land, including 3,774 acres private patt land in several villages, including parandures, eomanapuram Pakkam, Magadevi Mangalam and Podavur.
Subsequently, the government order was approved in June to initiate land acquisition under the Land Act on Industrial Purpose of Tamil Nadu in 1997.
The following month, some of the owners of land from Nelvoy, Parandur, Valathur, Podavur and Akkamapuram have signed up to divide their land.
Sources in the state government said that the project has so far been obtained 540 acres of land in 12 villages. Of these, 50% are inhabitants of these villages and the remaining 50% to those who have land at the project but live elsewhere. The maximum soil obtained was from Parandur to the date.
Sources say that they consciously accept the process of acquisitions slowly, with election elections at the beginning of next year. It is said that the acquisition of land in Eganapuram will be difficult because its inhabitants were firmly against the project against the project.
The project at the airport has now come across a delay and offers for construction work and can only float next year. As a result, the completion of the phase and the Parandur project can be moved from the end of 2028 to 2030. Then the other three phases of this project will take off and probably complete by 2046.
