The Minister of Tourism PA Mohammad Riyas said that the state government will be the project of the target challenge with more force.
Riyas, who spoke after the inauguration of the children’s adventure park in Karamala, Tarur, nearby, promised that the state tourist department would provide all support to local government in identifying and developing more destinations.
“Kerala excels as an Indian only representative of the prestigious list of Time Magazine 50 tourist destinations that they had to visit around the world,” he said.
He said the target challenge would mean the main milestone in unlocking Keral’s hidden tourism by elaborating uncharted destinations in rural areas.
Given that the tourism department had a significant part of the financing and the local government that contribute to the rest, this initiative is ready to give birth to hundreds of new tourist nodes across Kerala, the Minister said.
He said that the government plans to develop tourist centers in 100 villages, with approximately 70 projects have already been approved and underway. “We recently identified five new destinations and another five will be completed by October.”
The Minister said Karamala became a remarkable tourist destination. The tourism department and Gram Tarur Gram Panchayat invested 50 Lakh and 33.5 Lakh for the development of the Karamala park.
