Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, which was to be scheduled to restart on Sunday, September 14th, after remaining suspended for 19 days, was re -postponed until the next announcement in the middle of the constant rains in Jammu and Kashmir.
The pilgrimage was suspended 26 August, hours before the main landslide set off on the road leading to the sanctuary, resulting in the death of 34 pilgrims and injuries of others.
The World Council asked the devotees to remain informed of the pilgrimage status through the official communication channels.
“Due to the continuous rain in Bhawan and the track, the start of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra scheduled from September 14th to the next command. The devotees are asked to remain updated through official communication channels,” said the Council for Sanctuary on Saturday.
The Board of Directors only decided to restore the pilgrimage from 14 September a few days ago, but the bad weather again forced him to detain the safety of pilgrims.
The authorities quoted safety concerns because the persistent rainfall in the city caused landslides and blocked traces leading to the sanctuary, which caused a dangerous movement for pilgrims.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Motorway also remains disturbed in several points due to landslides and road damage, which further complicates connectivity.
Wireless sets to be re -established
According to officials, the shrine will introduce wireless sets to strengthen the communication net along the track leading to the honored shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.
On Sunday, the Board decided on Sunday before the re -opening of the sanctuary to take the devotees during the upcoming Shardiya Naratras, scheduled from 22 September to October 1.
“Navratras is coming and the Council is expecting a considerable influx of devotees in the Holy Shrine, in addition to Katra,” said the CEO, emphasizing the synergy among all parties involved during the festival.
