The Minister of the Union for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naida observes the construction of the International Airport in Bhogapuram in the Vizianagaram district.
The Minister of the Union for Civil Aviation K. Ramhan Naida said on Saturday (September 13) that the International Airport, which is built in Bhogapuram, will be prepared until June 2026 because the works were carried out according to the schedule set by the department and state governments.
He checked the works and expressed satisfaction at the progress. In an interview with the media, he stated that the project would encourage economic activity and allow passengers to air problems with trouble -free travel from the new international airport. GMR officials told the Minister that progress at work had been good in the last few months despite heavy rains. They said that another workforce was deployed to quickly complete the work and start the operation of airports in June 2026.
According to Mr. Rammohan Naid, 86% of work was completed. Runway and terminal buildings are almost ready and access work were also occupied at the war base. Aviation passengers Visakhapatnam would have quick access to the airport with an improvement in the intersection between Port City and the new airport region.
Work on expanding roads are collected in places like Bhimili, Thalhavalsa, Paraderadeipal, Anandapuram, Vepagunta and other places to minimize traffic jams. “The government also designed the metro corridor between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram. Between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam, six beach corridors of six stripes were designed, a detailed project said,” said Mr. Rammohan Naida.
The Minister of the Union hoped that the number of air passengers would increase up to 60 lamps in the near future compared to the existing 32.4 Lakhu per year from Visakhapatnam Airport.
He radiated the certainty that the construction of IT parks at Bhogapuram airport and its surroundings would encourage economic activities in the region. He praised the Minister and Education of Nara Loket to take the initiative for the rescue of Indian passengers stuck in Nepal because of the unrest in the neighboring country. During the visit of the Minister of the Union at the airport was present collector Vizianagara S. Rama Sundar Reddy, busy collector S. Srinivas Murty and other officials.
