In 2027, Chennai will host the fifth Global Summit (CGGS) Fifth Coast Guard (CGGS) because India won the offer to organize the event. The formal announcement was made during the fourth CGGS, which was closed in Italy in Rome on Friday (September 12, 2025).
The fifth CGGS will be a three -day event representing a review of the International Coast Guard and the World Coast Guard, which is designed to show the maritime unity and provide a platform for dialogue on new challenges and opportunities in the field. The summit in 2027 will match the Golden Jubilee Indian Coast Guard celebrations, the official edition said.
The Indian delegation in the fourth CGG was led by the CEO of Paramesh Sivamani. The summit, attended by delegates from 115 countries and international organizations, emphasized its importance as a leading global forum for Coast Guard cooperation.
