Tirupati will be developed as a “anchor center” for tourism sectors to take advantage of the potential of Rayalaseem, said Tourism Minister Andhra Pradesh Kandula Durgesh.
Mr. Durgesh said that at a regional investor meeting organized by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), he said that an investment worth 12,000 GBP Crore had been drawn into the tourism sector in the last eighteen months.
The state government granted the industry industry industry and introduced a new tourism policy, he said.
“Tirupati will develop not only on the lines of religious tourism, but also as a target for adventure and cultural tourism. Tirupati, Talakon (Les) and Nappy (Bird Sanctuary) will be developed as the only circuit to take advantage of the latent tourist potential,” said Mr. Durgesh.
Collector Tirupati S. Venkateswar explained the improving tourist potential of the city and an organic increase in the number of visitors to the district. He introduced tourism projects on the anvil.
