
The American immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) shot and killed a man in Franklin Park on Friday after the man pulled the officer with his vehicle and resisted the arrest in the Chicago area.
According to the official release of the Ministry of Internal Security, the man resisted the arrest, tried to escape from the scene, and pulled the ice officer a considerable distance with his car.
The deceased-Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez was an illegal immigrant in the US and had a history of ruthless driving and was the aim of the recovery operation, mentioned DHS in his statement.
ICE officials confirmed fatal shooting and stated that the incident began with “targeted activities in the area of enforcement”.
What led to shooting?
According to DHS, ICE officers tried to arrest Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez during the vehicle stop when he refused to observe the commands and accelerated their car towards them.
“One of the ice officers was hit by a car and pulled a significant distance. He feared his own life, the officer fired a weapon,” he mentioned.
