India and the European Union (EU) reaffirmed their obligation to close the ongoing negotiations on the free trade agreement (FTA) between the two parties.
In a post on the Social Media on X, Minister of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal wrote that a balanced and mutually beneficial FTA will unlock new opportunities.

He said in his post X: “How FTA negotiations in India-Eu continues, we have repeated our shared commitment to its early conclusion. A balanced and mutually beneficial FTA unlocks new opportunities for people and businesses on both sides.”
The European Commissioner Maros Sefcovic and Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen visit India on 12-13. September. They conduct negotiations on free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union.
September 9, the EU Embassy in India published: “On September 12-13, the EU Commissioner Maros Sefcovic and Agriculture, and the Food Commissioner for Christophe Hansen will be in the city to meet Minister Piyush Goyal, take over and immerse India-EUs and associate with the key participants.”

At the end of this year, the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement in the India-European Union (EFTA) Trade and Economic Partnership Association will be carried out as soon as all parties complete their ratification processes. Previously, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul confirmed the obligation of his country as soon as possible to complete the free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union.
During the India meeting, she stressed that meaningful progress in business negotiations requires the same focus on non-tariff barriers (NTB) along with discussions on customs and regulatory frames must be inclusive, reasonable and avoid trade restrictions.

The India-Efta trade is expected to be carried out at the end of this year as soon as all parties complete their ratification processes.
Meanwhile, India is negotiating several other agreements, including India-Eu FTA, India-Australia Comperehensive Hospondation Cooperation Agreement (CECA), India-Sri Lanka of Economic and Technological Cooperation, Agreement on India-Per FTA, India CEPA, India-Nova Zealand FTA and FTA FTA.
