Mumbai, September 10 (PTI) Indian millennia focuses on family stays, while the gene redefines traveling by a group of parents, partners and friends, and moving the traditional dynamics of the group travel, reported on Wednesday.
With 62 % of Indian millennia, who have decided to travel with their immediate family, an average of 53 % over the average of the Asian-Tichoral (APAC), a modern Indian holiday becomes more about connection than just about the target, according to research reports on travel 2025 from online travel and related Booking.com services.
The report has been investigating adults who have made a leisure trip with overnight stays in the last 12 months, planning to travel in 2025 and are involved in travel planning. The sample size includes 32,106 respondents in 32 markets responded in January 2025, of which 1800 from India.
It has also revealed that most Indian passengers are willing to cover the travel costs to their loved ones.
More than 89 percent of the millennium and 88 % of the gene Z is willing to pay for a partner trip, parental trip or their children’s trip.
Approximately 83 percent GEN is willing to pay for friends holiday, compared to 75 % of the millennium and 58 % Gen X.
It was also found that 92 %of parents GEN paid a holiday for their family (fully/partly) before millennia (84 %), Gen X (71 %) and Baby Boomers (66 %).
Baby Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964, Gen X are those born between 1965 and 1980, millennia are those born around 1981 to 1996 and include people born from the late 90’s to early 2010.
The report also revealed that while Indian travelers across generations show a growing appetite for travel expenses compared to their APAC counterparts, values and budgeting remain sharply.
Approximately 42 percent of the millennium and 89 % of the gene from India plans to spend more on travel this year, over 24 % APAC, while 35 % GEN expects to increase travel expenses, which is more than twice the APAC diameter.
However, 82 % of the gene Z and 88 % of the millennium said that travel is a priority, but according to the report they are careful to find the best options within their budget.
Meanwhile, Millennials (77 %) and Gen (70 %) believe that it will take several short paths is smarter budget use than one long holiday, reflecting the desire for more frequent leaks.
“Today’s Indian traveler is powered by a desire for a meaningful connection. They balance the excitement of discovering with the comfort of society. Travel is more than just reaching the goal; it is investing in memories with your loved ones, reflected across all generations,” said regional manager of Regional.com, Santosh Kumar.
