The Minister of Income Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy ordered the officials concerned to speed up relief and rehabilitation measures in the Kameddy and Medak districts that carried the onslaught of recent heavy rains.
The steps initiated by the government largely minimized the loss of lives and property. Officials on their part should further speed up measures. It is necessary to take steps to relax compensation to ensure that the people concerned are still not waiting. Priority should be assigned to repair and restore tanks, roads and culverts in rehabilitation work.
On Wednesday, the Minister addressed a meeting of higher officials. The meeting was convened to review the Ministry of Wise Progress in the field of relief and rehabilitation.
The state government has issued each of the 10 crore for seriously affected districts and after CRORE 5 GBP for others for relief and renewal. District collectors should ensure close coordination with all departments in performing work and head of the department located in the state capital should regularly oversee the work.
Mr. Srinivasa Reddy expressed his disaster over the sloppy attitude of part of the officials in submitting the certificate of the use of the flood relief to the Central Government. He set 13 September as a deadline for departments to submit a certificate of use.
He wanted officials to be on alection with regard to the prognosis of heavy rain in the next few days due to the low -pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.
