Sri Lanka announced a strong 15 -member group for the Women’s World Cup 2025, scheduled for September 30 to November 2. Chamari Athapath, the most experienced player of the team with 3877 runs and 45 goals in 115 ODI, will lead in a global event.
Squad reflects a strategic mixture of seasoned activists and an emerging talent. Athapath’s leadership and experience remain the team’s backbone, while several young people were rewarded for a recent form.
Among them is Dewmi Vihanga, who played in the ODI TRI-RODE ODI, organized by Sri Lanka on April-May 2025. The young pitch required 11 goal, including five goal haul, and established itself as one of the key possibilities of the team’s strike.
