Thamp, the National Trust for Tribal Education, Development and Research, distributed free umbrellas for children of three tribal schools in Attappady.
The ESAF Foundation sponsored Karthumbi umbrellas made by tribal women under the Thamp. The head of the ESAF PK Binil Foundation Foundation began distribution on Monday in the UP, Kottathara in Attappady.

Thamp member Revathi Udayakumar explained the history and progress of the Karthumbi umbrella. This was in 2013, when Thamp started the production of Karthumbi umbrellas by employing tribal women after reporting reports on dozens of infant deaths in Attappady.
Mrs. Udayakumar pointed out that Thamp could provide 50 lakh tribal women through their bank accounts. The Karthumbi Umbrella project was listed as a model of strengthening the position of women in the 1111. Episode of Prime Minister Narendry Modi Mann Ki Bath.
President Thamp Rajendra Prasad said 20,000 Karthumbi umbrellas created by tribal women had reached markets this year. “We plan to place honey, millet, coconut oil, curry powder and divided pigeon peas under the head of Thamp,” said Mr. Prasad.
He said that Thamp would create a farmer’s producer company by involving tribal farmers.
