
Monday’s compensation program Prajavani in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) received a representation from the surrounding areas of the Jawahar Nagar, who asked for water supply without costs for residents suffering from the delay of waste waste.
The inhabitants of Dammaiguda, under the umbrella of “Anti-Jawahar Nagar Dumpyard), complained of water formations and groundwater, which is polluting to leach from a inheritance landfill that causes water tankers supplied against payment. Since the majority of the population comes from the working class, residents demanded free drinking water supply.
G. Swarna Srinivas, co -founder Jac, said the groundwater for kilometers around the landfill has become unusable due to high salinity and pollution. The number of people affected is around 18 lamps, she said.
“The inhabitants are sent to the water tanker for 15,000-20,000 ₹ per month. This is very unfair because the water is unusable due to the existence of the landfill.
Commissioner GHMC RV Karnan assured that she would solve the problem and provide free drinking water, she said.
Meanwhile, GHMC received a total of 140 complaints from people during the program, of which 51 were admitted to the headquarters, and 89 from six zones.
Of the 51 in the headquarters, 25 concerned the wing of land -use planning and the remaining health and hygiene, real estate tax, engineering, financing, accounts and land acquisition.
The program was adopted by telephone two complaints before direct adoption of complaints.
Secunderabad Zone received 28 complaints, Kukatplyly – 24, Serlingamply – 15, Charminar – 12 and LB Nagar Zone – 10 complaints.
