
Former Indian Spinner and MP Rajya Sabha Harbhajan Singh entered the measures for his relief for his flood home Pandjab, sanctioned ships and ambulances, and at the same time mobilized the funds through his personal network.
Through his fund Mplad Harbhajan he sanctioned eight steamer ships for auxiliary operations and added three more of his own resources, said a source close to PTI.
“Harbhajan donated a total of 11 steamers.
In the last few weeks, Panjab has been struggling with a severe flood situation caused by heavy monsoon rains and violations in the waterfront, leading to extensive relocation of people and damage to crops. Several districts remain water, while the state government and voluntary groups pushed for rescue and auxiliary work.
The cricket politician also addressed his wide range of friends and good friends for support.
According to the source, one sports organization responded to Harbhajan’s request with Dar RS 30 Lakh, while two of his close friends contributed R 12 Lakh and RS 6 lakh.
“Around the RS 50 Lakh has already been collected and donated,” said the source, adding that essentials such as food and medicines are also regularly supplied to the affected families.
Harbhajan, who represents AAM AADMI (AAP) in Rajya Sabha, actively monitors the situation and assures that further help will be provided if necessary.
