
The network for drugs, which allegedly operated foreigners throughout the city and its edge was arrested by the Police Bengaluru after the arrest of two women in Doddabetahalli in the northeast part of the city.
In July, the New Town Police arrested two foreign nationals while allegedly tried to sell drugs. The investigation revealed that the suspects had several accomplices in Bengalur who gathered drugs through wider networks and distributed them in their selling circles.
“We have gathered information about as many friends of the arrested suspects and have identified people involved in drug selling,” the officer said.
Police launched 3 September extensive operations in seven places, resulting in retention of nine foreigners. The raids were made in Varthur, Gunjuru, Begur, Gandhipura near Whitefield, Kr Puram, Ejipura, Sanjaynagar and Mrs. Palya.
During the search for the police, they confiscated 547 g of cocaine, 43 g amphetamine, 40 g Ganja, 201 g of crystal (raw materials) and 87 100 GBP in cash from two houses occupied by women. The defendants were identified as Benedict (24 years) and Priscilla (28 years), both nationals of African countries who lived in Bengalur for six months and two years.
According to the police, Priscilla’s visa has already expired, while Benedict’s visa status has to be confirmed. It was also found that the other seven detainees exceeded their visas.
“We wrote the Regional Office for the registration of foreigners (Frro). FRO will start proceedings,” the officer said, adding that both arrested women were transferred to his judicial custody.
The officer also stated that the details of the property owners who rented the houses to these foreigners. If there are any lunges on their part, they will also be considered responsible.
