Grama Panchayat authorities warned against strict legal measures against traders who overlook security measures in their stores and engage in an unfair sales competition to make cash on the seasonal market.
The event is governed by the recent incident, where 10 shoppers suffered injuries after a delicate glass pane at the entrance to the finished shop in Nadapuram. Shop owners announced a mega discount sale to attract large crowds.
Police sources said they registered no case against the owners because there were no written complaints from any of the injured shoppers who were hospitalized on September 6th. Most of them suffered only minor injuries and were released after receiving first aid, they added.
The Grama Panchayat authorities considered this question seriously and issued special directives to traders, noticing their madness to declare more competitive discount offers and attract crowds. Many shops did not have the required spatial or safety measures to adapt such severe participation, which released safety instructions, they said.
Kerala Vyapala members Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti also protested in the afternoon on the scene of the accident in the overpurm and demanded that the owner to close the shop. As part of traders, shoppers and Samiti members, a minor clash locked the corners with the police.
President Nadapuram Grama Panchayat VV Mohammed Ali said that the announcement of illegal offers violating the rules and regulations under the Act on Competition would be solved legally because they pose a security risk for the public. He also said in a social media contribution that Panchayat would proceed with the legal step against the owners of the Readymade Shop owners by provoking the relevant parts of the law of Panchayat Raj.
