Seven dead in explosion at ‘illegal’ firecracker warehouse in Jaipur

Seven people were killed and several others injured after a fire broke out following an explosion at an alleged illegal firecracker warehouse in Jaipur’s Khoh Nagoriyan residential area on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
A massive fire broke out at a small house in Ayesha Nagar Talai Colony where a large number of firecrackers were allegedly stored. Of the six persons rushed to the Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital, one was brought dead and the others succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
Another person died at a private hospital in the city. Doctors at the SMS Hospital said the victims had suffered burns ranging from 75% to 100% and could not be saved. Three seriously injured patients were taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit.
The news of the loss of life in the accident in Kho Nagoriyan area of Jaipur is sad and unfortunate.
The district administration and officials concerned are requested to engage in rescue and relief operations as soon as possible, provide best medical facilities to the injured and provide all possible assistance to the affected families.

After receiving the information, fire brigades, police teams and ambulances rushed to the spot to carry out rescue and firefighting operations, while local residents provided assistance in attempts to rescue people trapped in the house and control the flames.
The house appeared to function as a firecracker warehouse located adjacent to the manufacturing unit. Preliminary investigations indicated that the explosion may have been triggered by highly flammable material stored inside the compound.
