The Association of Employees of the Insurance Company (ICEU) of the MachiPipnam division welcomed the decisions that the GST Council adopted to liberate individual life and health insurance from 18% of GST and stated that this step would increase access to mass insurance.
Secretary General Iceu G. Kishhore Kumar, division joint secretaries Ch. Kaladhar, D. Vasu and NMK Prasad 5. September told media persons that the Union demands that GST in the field of life and health insurance be removed for a long time, during which employees encounter 400 members of the parliament.
Iceu holders said they met with the Minister of Finance Union Nirmala Sitharaman several times and impressed it on the need to cancel the GST on premiums. The Association of All-India Insurance Association has even encountered Members of Niti-Aayog. They insisted that the abolition of GST would help the government to achieve the goal to provide insurance coverage by 2047.
