The modernization of the ALAPPUZHA railway station as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme of the Union Ministry of Railways is slowly proceeding.
KC Venugopal, a deputy, wrote the chairman of Railway Board Satish Kumar, who tried to speed up the project. In his letter, MP Alappuzha emphasized the pitiful state of the station’s approach. Mr. Venugopal said that the poor road condition causes significant inconvenience to thousands of daily commuting.
Renovation, in the value of CRORE 6 GBP, includes an extension of access to access from 9 m to 12 m, along with the construction of drains, sidewalks, parking lots and platforms.
“The delay in their completion has deteriorated the challenges facing passengers. The two -wheel riders who risk accidents and avoid these obstacles,” he said.
Mr. Venugopal said that the restoration of bus services at the railway station did not improve the situation after a two -month suspension because the poor road still prevents safe and efficient travel. “Passengers who come taxis and two wheels face considerable problems with navigation on the road, undermining the availability and functionality of the railway station,” he said.
The deputy urged the chairman of the Railway Council to speed up the completion of ongoing reconstruction work at the ALAPPUZHA railway station “to ensure early delivery of the improvement of the promised infrastructure within the AMRIT project and prioritize the flavor and maintenance of the railway access to the Committees and the water management.
Development work was originally expected to be completed by March 2025, but were delayed.
Due to the importance of Alappuzha railway stations, Mr. Venugopal recently asked the Ministry of Railways to upgrade it to the category without Group 2 (NSG-2).
