After Donald Trump expanded the olive branch by referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his friend, the other replied warmly and said he deeply appreciated the positive evaluation of the US President in India-USA.
In Washington Trump he said on Friday, “I will always be friends (Narendra) modi, he’s a great prime minister. He’s great. I will always be friends, but I just don’t like what he’s doing at this particular moment.”
“But India and the United States have a special relationship. There is nothing to worry about. We have occasionally only moments,” he said in an oval office.
A few hours later, Modi published on the social media: “He will appreciate and fully return to President Trump’s sentiments and the positive evaluation of our ties.” He adds: “India and the US have a very positive and looking comprehensive and global strategic partnership.”
Development is important because comments come at the current tension between Washington and Delhi over tariffs and Russian oil shopping.
Are they really signs of patches?
Analysis of the development, Western Asia strategist Waiel Awwad said on Saturday that it was a signal of mutual respect and recognition of growing bilateral cooperation.
“The US cannot ignore India. President Trump (and Prime Minister Modi) has a good relationship … There is also a huge Indian diaspora in the US. When US President addresses them, he wants to send them to the fact that India depends on the US and Indian diaspora for US business and US good living conditions,” he said.
However, he said as caution that a particular political action must correspond to a symbolic gesture.
“I’m just saying that we must be careful. Why? Because he (Trump) issued an executive order. President Trump cannot easily accept this executive order if he has no evidence to retain his table,” he explained, referring to Washington’s policy, which deposited 50 % tariff on Indian goods.

Awwad added that while Trump is known for its outlook Pro-Business, it must also deal with past measures that stretch economic ties if they seek to build a permanent goodwill with India.
“It’s not just an eye certificate that he is trying to tell the Indian government:” I’m glad I can trade with India. “He is an entrepreneur, but he is the president, there are problems he has taken and must withdraw these problems.
What did Jaishankar say about Modi’s relationship, Trump?
The Minister of the External Affairs with Jaishankar admitted on Saturday that the US President and Prime Minister Modi share a good personal equation, but did not publish much about their future procedures.
“PM Modi attaches great importance to our partnership with the US. As for President Trump, he (PM Modi) has always had a very good personal equation with President Trump. But the point is that we continued to work with the US, and I can’t say more at the moment.
