“As far as BCCi’s opinion is concerned, we must follow any formalization of the central government. Recently our policy, which is introduced in terms of India’s participation in any multinational tournament or international tournament, is no restrictions imposed on the central government, whether we play some of the countries that are not good with India.
“Since the Asia Cup is a multinational tournament involving the country of the Asian continent, we have to play. And for any ICC tournament, when there is a country that is not friendly with India, we have to play in international tournaments. We will not play with our enemy countries.”

Saikia also explained that India could risk, facing sanctions by boycotting multinational tournaments at the international level.
“If you think India is boycotted by one of the multinational tournaments organized by the Asian cricket council or ICC, or if you take other sports, let’s assume a FIFA or AFC tournament, let’s assume fun against Indian federal.
India and Pakistan will have a 14th September in Dubai against each other. It will be the first meeting in the cricket field between the two countries after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam and India retaliation through the Sindoor operation. Both teams are likely to meet again on the 21st September in the Super 4 phases, the probability that they will face 28th September in the finals.
