181. The anniversary of the birth of M. Venkatakrishnaiah, known as “Grand Old Man of MySore” and Tathayya, celebrated and remembered on Friday his link and contribution in various fields.
The event was organized by the Alumni Association in Tathayya an orphanage by making Garland his statue near the City Bus stand. MLA for Krishnaraja TS Srivatsa emphasized the benefits of Venkatakrishnaiah in promoting education and introducing social reforms.
Other speakers who paid tribute to the Venkatakrishnaiaha pointed out that he was a pioneer in the field of journalism when he edited a lot of magazines and wrote extensively to shape public opinion on national issues in running against the British Empire.
According to greater recognition of their legacy and called on the government to officially celebrate the anniversary of Tathayya and introduce the price in their memory.
