The Theangany government asked the Central Government to extend the immediate financial assistance of 5,018 GBP Crore, allowing it to effectively attract relief and rehabilitation work regarding the recent heavy rains that hit the state.
According to preliminary estimates, the state suffered huge losses of infrastructure concerning the city administration (1,026 GBP), roads and buildings (785.59 crore), irrigation (£ 655.70 Crore), crore) and 236 crore). The government therefore said there was an immediate requirement of 1,500 GBP Crore for emergency repairs and another 300 crore for repairs for other properties and departments.
The delegation led by the Deputy Minister Malla Bhatti Vikramark called the Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah and submitted a memorandum looking for central assistance to take measures and rehabilitation measures. They urged the Minister of the Interior of the Union to declare the recent heavy rains in Telangana as a national disaster and prolonged help accordingly. The Center was asked to cancel the official delegation to assess the losses that the delegation could increase because the list was still turned on.
The delegation explained that rain, seriously damaged roads, railway, culverts, electric poles, transformers and other infrastructure and disrupt normal life across the state. The state government mobilized all available sources to implement measures to help.
Seven NDF teams, fifteen SDRF teams and about 100 army staff were actively involved in rescue and auxiliary operations. Field level monitoring has helped minimize human life loss, while preliminary estimates have committed deaths to 22 years.
The Union’s government was reminded that the state suffered losses of an estimated 11,713 GBP Crore during heavy rains that caught Khammam and neighboring districts. Although the Center was asked to extend the assistance, it has not yet published any amounts for the losses of the previous year. With the current losses, the total amount caused by the state greater than 16,732 GBP Crore and the center should immediately release the amounts so that relief and rehabilitation work can be accelerated.
Mr. Shah responded positively at the request. He assured that the central interdisciplinary team would soon be entrusted to Thelangana to assess the damage.
