
University institutions in Kerala have made impressive advances in the ranking of India 2025 issued on Thursday as part of the national institutional ranking (NIRF).
Among the state public universities, Kerala University and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) climbed to the fifth and sixth positions, last year from the ninth and tenth. Minister of Higher Education R. Bindu has attributed collective success to reforms and strategic interventions conducted by the state in recent years.
The successful implementation of a four -year university program, with a strong emphasis on the development of skills, employability and research, played an important role in increasing academic standards.
“In addition, kerala restructuring of the curriculum, test systems and evaluation methods also contributed to an improved ranking. Equally important was the focus on providing opportunities for students from economically and socially disadvantaged environments as well as mechanisms of support and mechanisms created for students facing physical and mental health,” she said.
