
On Wednesday (September 3), two pedestrians were killed after they were allegedly affected by a fast motorcycle in Perumthatta in Mathamangalam.
The deceased were identified as Vijayan, 50 and Ratheesh, 40, both residents of Eramam. The accident occurred around 11.45 hours when the bike rode Sreethul, 27, allegedly thrust into the pedestrians. All three were hurried to the Kannur Hospital Government Medical College Hospital, where Vijayan and Ratheesh succumbed to injuries during treatment. Sreethul undergoes the treatment of his injury.
The police said the rider initially claimed that he had fallen on the road and suffered injuries. But the probe reportedly revealed that he had lost control of the vehicle and hit the pedestrians before the fall. Peringome police attributed excessive speed as a probable cause of the accident.
