US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday (September 3) that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping “hoped to watch” their joint performance at a massive military show in Beijing.
“I thought it was very impressive, but I understood why they were doing it. And hoping to watch – and watched,” Trump said, describing the spectacle as a strategic military showboating.
The show added 80. The anniversary of the Japanese defeat in World War II and represented the speeches of advanced weapons and leaders from American opponents, including Kim Jong Un in North Korea and President Belarus Aleksandra Lukenko.
Trump: “Not my place” to participate
Asked if he was invited, Trump rejected the opportunity to participate. “It wouldn’t be my place,” the president said.
He previously complained that XI did not mention the role of America in the Japanese surrender during his speech.
“President XI is my friend, but I thought the United States should be mentioned last night during this speech because we helped China very much,” Trump said.
Kremlin rejects Trump’s claim of plot
The Kremlin refused Trump’s accusation that Xi, Putin and Kim were conspired against Washington.
“I would like to say that no one was asking, no one was planning anything, no plot,” said Aide Kreml Yuri Ushakov to Russian State Television. “No one had such an idea – none of these three leaders had such an idea.”
He added: “I can say that everyone understands the role played by the United States, the current administration of President Trump and President Trump in person in the current international situation.”
Trump mixes pleasure with accusations
Despite his criticism, Trump joined a warm wish with a suspicion in a post on a social post.
“May the President Xi and the amazing China have a great and permanent day of celebrations. Please give my hottest greeting to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un when you conspire against the United States.”
XI warns against the choice of “Peace or War”
In his speech at the XI show, he warned that the world was at the intersection. “The world is facing a selection between peace or war,” he warned, because the event culminated in the release of 80,000 doves over Beijing.
XI also conducted bilateral conversations with Putin and called him his “old friend” and previously met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Trump dredges concerns from the “axis”
Asked if he was afraid of the “axis”, which was formed against Washington, Trump postponed fears aside. “I’m not worried at all … We have the strongest army in the world, by far. They would never use our army on us. Believe me,” he said.
