On Tuesday, a 21 -year -old man was murdered by a gang near a lake in the village of Poondipatt near Cheyyar, Tiruvannamalai.
The police said the deceased was identified as Mohammed Afsal, a native of Purasai near Cheyyar. For the last few months he has worked in a seminar in Tiruttani in the Thirvallur district. Given that he did not return home for many weeks, Afsal’s father Mohammed Basha complained to the city police Cheyyar, who started searching for youth.
The investigation revealed that Afsal has been dependent on Ganja in recent weeks after he came into contact with Ganja Pedlers in Tiruttan and the surrounding areas. He also allegedly participated in drug selling in Cheyyar to supplement his income from welding work.
Meanwhile, several farmers in the village of Poondipatt complained about the resistance from the lake to the police, which inspected this place and found that the body Afsal threw the borehole. Police found injuries on the body and sent them to the government hospital Medical College Hospital in Tiruvannamei for the posthumous. The case was registered and another probe is taking place.
