“The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will continue to be strictly enforced”
The phone call comes as US President Donald Trump reiterated that the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will remain strictly enforced until a definitive deal is secured with Tehran.
The American president offered these assessments while speaking to reporters as he was leaving New York after attending the NBA Finals game between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, noting that active dialogue with Tehran is progressing and could soon bring absolute clarity.
“We are in the final stages of a very good agreement that will not allow nuclear weapons in any way, shape or form. And the strait will open immediately. It will open immediately after signing, which could be in two or three days,” he added.
Trump, who has vowed to maintain maximum economic pressure on the regime through the strategy, has declared that “no oil, no revenue, nothing” will be allowed to pass through the critical maritime corridor until a final deal is officially signed.
Expressing deep concern over the escalation of tensions, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s strong condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The US president has expressed strong optimism about the trajectory of ongoing back-channel talks, hinting that a major diplomatic breakthrough could materialize within days.
