“The investigation of the murder of the scholar MM Kalburgi must be accelerated and the murderers must be punished,” said Linguist Gn Devy.
On Saturday, Kalburgi National Memorial Trust spoke on the event organized by MM Kalburgi National Memorial TRUST.
“The rationalists and activists of Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, Mm Kalburg and Gauri Lankesh were all murdered. Some of the accusations in these cases even earned bail.
“It has been 10 years since the murder, but the killers remain unpunished. Justice must not be delayed. In many serious criminal cases, intentional conspiracy is created for the intervention.
“Basavanna is the greatest treasure of the state. Kalburg dedicated his life to spreading Basavann Vachans and philosophy among people. It is among his great life missions,” he said.
Prof. Devy, who moved from Madhya Pradesh after Kalburg’s death, said he decided to live in Dharwad until the murder investigation was completed.
Journalist D. Umapathi expressed concern about the delay of the provision of justice.
“Kalburg was killed for his rational and reformist views. Even after 10 years of murder, the law failed to act against the killer and Masterminds. We all have to liberate the truth, tolerance and justice of prison in which they are locked today.
The chairwoman of Trust President Veeranna Rajur chaired the event.
Umadvi Kalburgi, Srivijaya Kalburg, Ma Arun, Hanumakshi Gogi, Hs Melinamani, Kumar Bekkari and Hduda Chaiirman Shakeer Sanadi and others.
