New Delhi: The government appointed TCA Kalyani, in 1991-Dávka officer of the Indian Civil Account Services, as the new CEO in the country, the Ministry of Finance said on Monday. Kalyani is 29. The officer who held the place.
Kalyani follows SS Dubey, 1989-dwelling officer of the Indian Service Civil Accounts Service, which was appointed in March 2023.
Kalyani, a gold medalist at the University of Delhi and a graduate of Jawaharlal Nezru University, brings more than three decades of experience in public financial management, accounting and administration.
She played key roles across ministries such as defense, finance, telecommunications, fertilizers, domestic matters and information and broadcasting.
CGA acts as the Supreme Accounting Office of the Government, oversees public expenses, design and management of the accounting system and prepare the Central Government accounts for Parliament. The office also manages internal audits and financial information system to support fiscal caution and transparency.
It provides regular data to legislators and coordinates answers to the recommendations of the Committee on Public Accounts and General Controller and Auditor.
Kalyani’s appointment comes in the middle of a continuing government effort to strengthen public financial management and deepening system reforms.
“It is expected that Mrs. Kalyani will further strengthen the country’s financial management systems and continue to manage the innovation and transparency of government accounts with its wealth of experience and proven leadership,” the Ministry of Finance said.
“Mrs. Kalyani has constantly promoted the transparency and efficiency of providing public services by adopting technology. In particular, its management was crucial at the start of the live broadcast scheme (DBT) for farmers for helping fertilizers from the Indian government,” she added.
