Member of Rajya Sabha and the leader of BJP K. Laxman claimed on Sunday that the caste census of the Congress government could not fulfill justice of reverse classes and claimed that it was carried out with the sole “voting banking policy” by including Muslims on the BC list.
Laxman, who spoke at the event of the publication of the book, which took place in the celebrations of the day of liberation of nomadic tribes, insisted that the census is only valid when carried out by the Ministry of the Interior. He emphasized the need to educate the public in this aspect.
Mr. Laxman noted that the Center has already announced plans to carry out a caste census as part of the upcoming census in the national population next year. He said with public cooperation that the exercise could be completed successfully and efficiently.
The deputy said he urged the Minister of the Interior AMIT Shah to ensure that the nomadic tribes would be counted in the upcoming census, allowing targeted development and social programs with adequate assignment of the fund. As the National President of the Morcha BJP, he will travel in different countries in the next six months to advise nomadic tribes representatives and ensure that their rights should be protected in the national caste census.
After granting the constitutional position of the National Commission for backward classes, the Modi is now working to provide a similar recognition to the National Commission for Denotified, Nomadic and Seplopinomadic tribes. This step, he said, would open more opportunities for these communities in education, health and employment.
The center ordered all governments led by BJP to watch the nomadic tribes as an official event. The TELANGANA unit Morcha BJP also plans to host convention for these communities soon, he added.
