The Chief Minister of MK Stalin is set up at the opening of a permanent building for meetings of public complaints and special camps in collectors in Tiruvannamei in September.
Officials of the Public Work Department (PWD) said that the new facility is the first of its kind and represents a separate building that deals with public complaints from officials from various government departments. “The existing meeting hall for complaint meetings is cramped, and the public has to expect to build its complaints. Civic equipment such as water and toilets is also insufficient. The new building will end our suffering,” K. Ponnusamy, resident.
Together with R. Rampradeepan, a district income officer (DRO), collector K. Tharpagaraj inspected the ongoing work in a new building. PWD officials said that before the new facility was handed over to formal inauguration.

In Truvallur and Dharmapuri collectors are working on the construction of similar buildings, PWD (Truvannamai), Hindu said.
The building extends over 13,000 square feet and is built at a price of 12.17 GBP Crore under the general funds of the Ministry of Income. The new facility has a spacious auditorium on the ground floor for organizing cultural events and programs to raise awareness of government schemes. The first and second floors have large meeting halls for organizing weekly meetings of public complaints. Each hall has an average of 700 seating capacity.
Each floor has adequate equipment for drinking water, toilets, lifts for women, children and people with disabilities. The new facility will create separate tables for the key government department, where the petitioners can complain about their complaints. The whole device, including meeting halls for complaints, falls under the supervision of CCTV and will be directly monitored by a collector. The new facility will also include a small library on the ground floor with books, mostly Tamil and English, newspapers and magazines.
