An exception to the narrative that Shivaji Mahara is Anti-Muslim, the Minister of Labor and the Dharwad district, Santosh Lad, said the CHHhatparati Shivaji Mahaj was never anti-Mahara, but opposed only to those who acted in violation of their religion principles.
On Saturday, Maratha Vidyaprasarak launched mandal and after the Bhumi Puja for the new administrative agency and the PU College building in Dharwad, Mr. Lad pointed out that one of Shivaji Maharaja was Muslim.
“It is unfortunate that some people depict Shivaji’s Maharaja as anti-Muslim, which is not true. He was a Muslim soldier named Rustum-E-Jamal of Shivaji’s army who still helped him kill Afzal Khan.
He called on the youth to understand the current political situation, urged them not to believe that everything would spread on social media platforms. Instead, you should study history to understand the truth and become part of building a strong society, he said.
Mr. Lad said that Shivaji Maharaj fought for the protection of all caste and religion and should not be limited to the Maratha community.
Deputy Commissioner Dharwada, Divya PraBhu, called on students to create a habit of reading and cultivate good leadership qualities to contribute to the development of society.
Chairman Da. Ra. Saraju Katkar Bendre National Memorial Trust suggested that the mandala set up a competing training center, which provides coaching to the poor, meritorious students from the community.
