
Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in China on Saturday after a gap for over seven years. His visit is firmly monitored and is assumed that it is more significant with regard to the sudden decline in India-USA links that have triggered Washington policies on tariffs.
PM Modi is in China primarily at the annual summit of the organization for cooperation in Shanghai (SCO) 31 August and 1 September.
In the X, PM Modi post, he announced his arrival in China with a number of pictures and said, “By accepting Tianjin, I look forward to engaging in depth discussions during the Summit for Cooperation in Shanghai and meetings with leaders from different countries.”

The planned PM Modi meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday assumed more significance in the face of Tussle Washington’s tariff Tussle, which fell on almost all leading economies around the world.
In the interviews, the PM Modi and XI are expected to evaluate economic ties in India China and consider steps to further normalize relationships that have come under serious tension along the border line.
The Prime Minister arrived in this Chinese city from Japan in the second and last stage of his two nations.
PM Modi is also expected to conduct bilateral conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and several other leaders on the edge of the summit.
“Important to India and China to work together”
Before traveling to Tianjin PM Modi, he said it was important that India and China would cooperate to bring stability to the world economic order.
In an interview with Japanese Yomiuri Shimbun PM Modi, he said that stable, predictable and friendly bilateral relations between India and China can positively affect regional and global peace and prosperity.
“Given the current volatility in the world economy, it is also important that India and China, as two main economies, cooperate to bring stability to the world economic rules,” PM Modi said on Friday.
The PM Modi trip to China comes less than fourteen days after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India.

After extensive interviews Wang Yi with the Minister of Outside Affairs with Jaishankar and the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, both parties introduced a number of measures for “stable, cooperative and forward” the relationship between the two parties.
The measures included joint maintenance of peace along the attacked border, re -opening the border trade and first renewing direct flight services.
In the last few months, both parties have launched a number of measures to reset their ties, which after deadly clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan valley in June 2020 got under serious tension.
