The Panjab Police is expected to take Sukhdeep Singha to custody on Saturday (August 30, 2025) in connection with the Ajnala police station. Singh was arrested at the international airport Gandhi (RGIA) after the living ammunition was obtained from his luggage. The accused is currently submitted in Chanchalguda Central Jail, while the RGIA police are preparing for his handover.
Shamshabad DCP B. Rajesh said Singh was identified as a wanted person in the pandjab. “In this case, the number 17 is accused. The Panjaba is on the way to Hyderabad to take Singha into custody with the PT command,” he said.

Singh, 32-year-old from Bhawanigarh, Punjab, was detained on Thursday (August 28, 2025), while preparing to board flight to Delhi on the Amritsar route. Security staff of the screening of its luggage found eight live wheels, including four 0.2 mm, two 0.7 mm, one of 7.52 mm and one of the 7.62 mm caliber. When he failed to create a valid license, the ammunition was confiscated and Singh was handed over to RGI airport. The case was registered pursuant to § 25 para. A) of the 1959 arms Act.
During the interrogation of Singh, he claimed that the bullets were left from the incident “2023 in the pandjab” and that they carried them unknowingly. The clerk involved in the probe stated that Singh’s criminal register was cross -checked by the police authorities in Panjab. “During the interrogation, he did not admit to his involvement in the incident Ajnala, but his name is in case records,” the official added.
23 February 2023 attacked the police station Ajnala Singh on the outskirts of Amritsar City. They demanded the release of Amritpala’s assistant Lovepreeet Singh Tofan, who was detained in the case.
Through the barricades established by the police, hundreds of men armed with weapons and swords, they forced themselves to violate the violent clashes and eventually secured Lovepreet’s release. The incident triggered outrage across the pandjab and led to the fact that they have led to several cases against those accused of participating in the attack.
Since then, the Panjab police has been following those that have been identified as part of the crowd, and Singho’s arrest in Hyderabad has now revived their case investigation. The Pandjab team is expected to have a link to Singh as soon as the formalities are completed before creating it in court.
