Carlos Alcaraz gave the commanding performance on Friday and defeated Luciano Darderi, Italian Darderi in direct sets to reach the fourth round of the US Open 2025. The Spaniard, who attracted attention at the beginning of the week with his buzzing, turned his head again with distinctive pink clothes before sailing to win 6-2, 6-4, 6-0 per hour and 44 minutes.
Alcaraz still has to drop the set at the tournament and now has recorded his 20 matches in the last 21 matches. The only loss came against Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final. The victory secured its fourth preliminary berth in New York and he remains on the track not only for another deep run, but also regained World No. 1 place from Sinner.
US Open 2025 Day 6 Updates
Alcaraz, who raised the US Open three years ago as a teenager, lightened the mood after the match and joked that it started in the morning, was a fight for him, and that he was just trying to stay awake.
“I just tried to start up, it was important. Starting 11:30 is not a schedule I am used to playing, so my first goal is to start well, start concentrating.
“I’m not a (morning) man. It is hard for me to wake up in the morning, so it’s a good thing to wake up soon, I made warming well, played well … It looks like I’m a Spanish guy!” Alcaraz added.
Alcaraz drills around Darderi
Alcaraz was ruthless in every department, especially on the Forehand exchange, and showed little mercy despite a short tripping in the second set. After racing on the lead 4-1, he gave up for the first time throughout the week, and he seemed to land embarrassingly during the administration, which for a moment opened the door for his opponent.
In 5-4, 22-year-old Spaniard, he called on a medical time to be treated on his right knee. However, any concerns were short -term when he immediately regained his rhythm and threw seven direct games to take control and strength to win.
Alcaraz will also face the winners of the versatile clash between Benjamin Bonzi and Arthur Rinderknech.
