On Thursday (August 28, 2025), the first Pier Pier in Kochi Metro’s 11.20 km long Kakkanad Extension (christened “pink line”), at the top of Pillar 281 near a infopark.
The 80-Tuns pier, which was occupied in the courtyard Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) in Kalamassery, was triggered by a heavy crane. In the coming days, the mol caps will be launched on three other adjacent columns, up to 284, the metro sources said.

Revised term

However, there are some concerns about the acquisition of land acquisition for stations in Chembumuk and Padamugal.
Delay
Although the KMRL sources said they were convinced that they were following the deadline for December 2026 to complete the work on an extension of the 1,957 GBP, the uncertainty about the provision of loans worth approximately 1,200 GBP Crore from the Asian investment bank infrastructure (AIIB). It was reported that this was one of the reasons for the delay in performing an extension of the metro.
The state government is reportedly to be approved by the loan proposal and handing it over to the center, although the Board of Director of KMRL approved it a year ago, he will learn.
Early penalty for loan is decisive for fast payments to suppliers to complete the capital project at least according to the revised schedule, the sources said.
The delay in obtaining a loan led to slowing the activity of the Moon, which resulted in a barricad, but “idle” jobs on the road civil line and other sections, through which the viaduct should be created.
